House with History

Such an impressive home on South Main in Burlington, Iowa. A massive structure with bold color, original brick, detailed architecture and amazing stained glass windows. Walking through this home, I could feel the historical stories in the air. The emptiness is haunting in a very incredible way. The energy of the home left me with so many wonders and questions. I was even told that legend has it, the hollowness that you can still hear today, underneath the basement floor, was a tunnel to the Mississippi River often used by Al Capone to bootleg liquor. This home is currently on the market in Burlington, Iowa. Contact Vickie Levins with Century 21.
