Today’s wedding post starts with a beautifully classic Catholic ceremony in the historic Nauvoo, Illinois with Kristy and Geoff. The inspiration for style was an elegant and classic approach with a modern setting at the reception and soft colors throughout the day gave it a light summer pop.
Kristy and Geoff were married in the Catholic Church where Kristy grew up with a magnificent view of the Mississippi River. Afterwards, the reception was held at the renovated Burlington Apartments in Downtown Burlington, Iowa. The classic elegant style flowed seamlessly into the modernized reception venue where we were able to gain access to the rooftop. This led to capturing some of my favorite portraits of the day complete with an expansive view of Burlington’s cityscape, the massive river and intimate moments of the couple together.
One of my favorite moments of the day was towards the end during their first dance. It was then that the couple seemed to disappear into the moment and only see each other as if no one else existed. It is specific times like this that make the entire day come together into a complete storybook ending. I want to thank Kristy and Geoff for choosing me to photograph your wedding day and making it possible for me to capture special moments just like that.
